Myofascial release explained

Myo means muscle and fascial refers to Fascia. Myofascial release works on both together. The practitioner finds an area that feels restricted, applies gentle, sustained pressure or stretch, and holds it for one to five minutes while the tissue gradually softens.

How it feels

Most people describe a slow stretching or melting sensation, sometimes warmth, and a sense of the area letting go. It is usually gentler than deep tissue massage and uses little or no oil so the hands can grip the tissue.

He spent time analysing my posture, looking for the sources of my problems, explaining to me how they are all linked, then gradually working on releasing the fascia in every single part of me.
